A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is an undergraduate professional degree which prepares students to be fully qualified for work as a teacher in schools which is mandatory for teaching at all schools and colleges.. Currently the two years course is open to all undergraduates, with an emphasis on the principles and methodology of teaching, leading to earning the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) UG Degree.
Course Duration: 2 years.
Annual Intake: 100 students.
ELIGIBILITY:
The minimum qualification required for entry into B.Ed. course is that the candidate should be graduate of any recognized University and the candidate should have passed the UG Degree examination in the 10+2+3 stream, with the same main subject in part III, for which they seek admission with the reqired minimum score: OC 50%, MBC 43%, BC 45%, SC/ST 40%.
Will be trained to teach subjects like History, Civics, Geography, and languages.
Will be trained to teach Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
The Right to Free and Compulsory Education for Children (RTE Act 2009) came into force from April 2010. The act emphasizes on quality education for every child. As such, with the view to bring about quality education in schools.
After B.Ed., students can pursue a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in any Indian university or teacher-training institutes offering the course. The National Council for Teacher Education is the statutory body which is regulating teacher training courses in India.
